My Favorite Covers

I think I backed the game on the strength of the art (also the art inside) but this cover is just gorgeous.

I didn't like the old cover at all. I am so glad I got this box because I was late to the party. And now I am storing the game in the expansion box which is also quite pretty

Love the retro look of this cover. Convinced me to buy the game on a hunch. Glad we also love the game.

This is a case of just perfectly matching my color palette and the great art inside the box makes me like the cover even more--because the inside art matches this just so well.

The inside art on this is not great but I love the cover. It instantly makes me want to play the game.

Love the style, the subdued colors and the composition. Hope the game is going to be as good as the cover makes me wish.

Just love how evocative this is.

I have this as a puzzle and the whole piece is even better than this great cover.

This is one of the better Ian O'Toole covers and I really like his style. This has clearer lines and colors though than Black Angel.

Parks has great art all around and the cover is a beautiful representation of that. Love the graphic aspect. I love the art enough to keep the game that I find slightly boring.

Another case where the art definitely elevates the game. This cover just instantly pulls you into the world.

Kyle Ferrin at his best. The cover is a bit too much for my taste but the art inside this reflects well on that cover and makes me like it more. In this game art and game go so well together both are improved by it.

A beautiful game about beautiful paintings with this serene cover. I love when the cover tells me what playing the game feels like.

I tend to like darker colored covers. This one though is just awesome. The way the patterns incoporate the title and mesh with the landscape is just perfection. This is even better iRL than as a flat image because of how this was realized on the box.

Something about this image just grabs me. It could also have been a cover for a cyberpunk themed game...

Something about this cover speaks to me. The contrast, the curving lines? The fonts? I cannot quite put words to it.

The small image here does not do this cover justice. It is one of pieces of game art one might want to frame and put on a wall

I like the minimalism of this but it bugs me that the second moon is just cut off there on the left.

This looks better on the actual box than flat on the web. I like how it represents the IP and the game.

The bright colors and the lines all showing us a way to a better future? I hope?

This cover needed a closer look from me to be able to appreciate it. But I do. Or it would not be on this list.

Sometimes covers are too busy for me this one manages to pull it off. Also like the face in the clouds.

Another game that I may possibly be keeping because of the great cover--which is even nicer iRL. (Though the action selection is great, too) I like the unusual color scheme here.

Just some nice looking spacy stuff. Good.

I don't like the game much. But the cover is definitely great (the new one is even better but didn't qualify for my list). It a case of cover and title being so evocative that one really has to play the game. And I probably should give it another go.

The expansion looks much better than the base game cover. I should really move my game to that box.

I am not a fan of these yellow/gold hues in general but I find this a very pleasing color composition with very nice use of contrasting colors and I really need to play this again.

This image is too small do to this ensemble justice. It would be better and actually is on my big box without the marvel logo at the bottom ruining the composition. I could not find my cover image on here but it really looks nice.

I like the contrasting colors and the font somehow matches this all so well… there is light and dark and so much going on here. I keep finding new details.

Of the three covers for Ghost Stories (base game 2 expansions) this one is my favorite. All 3 covers are a bit on the busy side but this just has the best lines and colors.

I like the contrasts and the graphic elements of this. Classic

Green hues are not often my thing but this is just such a great composition and the design is quite clever. Love it.

The whole game looks so great. I wish I had more fun playing it.

I don‘t think this is pretty but the cover is just so well designed I cannot help but admire it.

Why do I like a skull with glowing purple eyes? I don't know? Purple? The cover just screams for some "fun" adventures to be had--though the tilted camera angle suggests bad things might happen to adventurers...

I love the new art for this and the cover especially. I like the muted colors. Seems classy.

Another case of the outside representing the inside really well and I love the style... the white backdrop is what makes this for me.

This is one of the lightest covers in this list and yet it is dark in the image and this contrasts so much with the dark colors of the game inside, it fascinates me. I think I do prefer the other Brass‘ cover with the top hat but I do not have that one

The retro look of this cover got me to buy the game. And I would have kept it if the materials were just a little less flimsy. With better materials I would totally prefer this over Splendor.

Just a beautiful landscape filled with tea plants.

I love the comic art on this game. Also this is one of those that is just fascinating to look at and think about.

What can I say: it is purple.

Shows what a minimalist design can achieve. If only I had enjoyed the game more…
