Inspired by Fantastic Realms and meshed with the YA IP… adds actual gameplay to the hand management scoring lottery that is FR. Each turn you play a card to one of four locations, get the card bonus and then take another card and that location bonus. March up the three tracks to end the game while getting he most combotastic hand. Cards that increase your handsize are übervaluable and topdecking a great combo can break the game. Still a beautiful game and preferable to FR any time for me. Rating 8 2026: I really enjoyed the books, at least the first 3 or 4 until the stakes got too high for me to continue reading (also this happens when I read series that are still on-going, I forget to come back for the next book). In any case thought this looked like a nice game based on an IP I enjoyed. When I got it I mostly played solo and enjoyed myself a lot. I couldn't quite understand why a lot of people didn't really enjoy this game. Then I played the game multiplayer. And the changing game state between turns with just 2 players enraged my Mitspieler so badly that I decided to never play it multiplayer again. But for reasons I quite like this somewhat bloated iteration on the simple formula of Fantasy Realms. With the bot the changing game state also happens but minus the human competition it doesn't bother me at all and it turns into a fun and endlessly variable puzzle that has a bit more game to it than Fantasy Realms if only a bit.
