Game of the Year

Games that I think are the best in their year. The newer the game the more likely I played the game a lot in that year. Some years are better than others. Only one game can be GOTY every year. Games marked with * I encountered well after initial publication for the first time. For this list I picked actually played games from the year over favorites I encountered later. In some cases I am listing a newer version than original publication year. In other cases German publication may have lagged a year or two behind. Current rating does not necessarily reflect how the game made the list. The first creation of the list was in 2020.
