A beautiful theme of Victorian England upper class and all the associated tropes known from Jane Austen to Bridgerton. Everyone player is a noble family (represented by cards) trying to renovate their ancestral home while trying to woo one of the rich Fairchild heirs and inviting prestigious guests to show off their new Tennis Court (or whatever else you just built) Has a variety of game modes with either reduced chance or a duel variant and a nice solo. update 2024: played 3 games this week, two after receiving the Characters expansion and it is lovely as ever. The variants booklet really enhances the game a lot. I now have a personal set of rules that works best for me. Beautiful. Now if that consolidated rulebook comes around ... and that one misprinted tile (I have previous versions of the other two) is really no concern at all, especially not for me because I play solo most of the time and it requires a 2nd player AFAIK. One of my very coziest tea time games.
