Would mostly recommend this for fans of the anime but it is nicely done. The theme works to sell a game that is a bit like "Tippi Toppi": you play numbered + suited friend cards into slots to fulfill certain conditions given to you by enemy cards. Everyone has a special ability of one of the Strawhats crew members. All the characters are from the anime of course. It's cute and cozy. Wouldn't recommend if you aren't a fan. Rating 7.5 2026 After 13 plays. I got late to watching One Piece (still catching up as of writing this) and when I saw this game I couldn't resist. Most games that use the One Piece franchise have quite bad ratings, so this one is a pleasant surprise. It reminds me a lot of Tippi Toppi / Cahoots. There are 4 types of cards: player characters are the Straw Hat crew with a different powerup for each character. The friends are Allies of the strawhats in different "suits" losely associated with the biggest arcs of the show. Each friend has a number from 1 to 9 indicating their power level. Enemies have conditions you need to fulfill to finish them off and mixed in with the enemies a number of bosses that have some negative effect in addition to their condition. Just like with Cahoots you try to play the friend cards in such and such patterns to fulfill the conditions and play through the stack of enemies. It's nothing revolutionary but it feels thematic (and spoilery!) enough to bring this back to the table now and then. It's not a game I play 3 times in a row but one I look forward to playing again after finishing it. I like this both as solo and with 2 players. We once tried it with a full set of 4 players and it became completely bogged down in AP. Rating 7.5
