My BGG Comment

A very cozy tile layer just like its predecessor. The new additions make it a little more complex. I really prefer Pink Dorf now both because of the looks and because of the new special tiles, and all the unlocks. My favorite ones being the three types of little buildings that just stand out so nicely from the tiles. We're almost finished with our first campaign at 13 games in. Rating: 8.5 2026: I was missing something from my soloing. And I looked through my games and noted I had not played this since late 2024. The campaign was almost finished. But I didn't remember all the rules for the unlocked details. So I reset the game and started over. It's so addicitve I played 11 games in 3 days. I have played the computer game which I don't really enjoy this much and I have played the OG Dorfromantik boardgame and I prefer this one. It has taken some lessons from the first and improved both gameplay and table presence and yes: I like pink. Highly recommended. This is the only implementation of a computer game where I very much prefer the boardgame. (Not that I have tried many such games, I usually avoid them because computergames are all about automation... I have more than a few apps I prefer over the original boardgames). Rating: 10

But the basics are trivial: play a tile, try to complete a task. * Keeper: Yes, so cozy. * Recommended: Anyone into cozy cooperative tile laying, hexagons and/or the color pink * Competition: Harmonies (cozy landscapes), Cascadia (hex tiles)

I never enjoyed the computer game all that much. It gets pretty stressful when your stack of tiles is running out when all you want to do is build a pretty landscape and those pesky quests just get in the way of building the most beautiful grove of blooming cherry trees and a river through rice fields… (see I called them rice fields and not forests. But they are green like the forests in the OG game. So forests!) Why it is cozy? * Well it is cooperative. * You cannot lose this game, you can just score badly. Surprisingly, a bad score is a bit like losing. You just know you did badly. But you are doing that to yourself, it is not the game. The game always gives you something at least one star no matter how terrible you played. It is not the game‘s fault that you think you did badly. The game says you did great. You competed and that is what matters! * I am kidding: it is kind of nice that you can’t lose and that the stakes are low… or as low as you want them. In theory you could just lay down tile after tile and do whatever you want. The game doesn‘t tell you what to do… * But of course there are incentives… but you do whatever you like * It is a neat puzzle that can get just as thinky as you want it in that moment. And it really also works as multiplayer and to me it kind of proves how quarterbacking is less of an issue than we make it out to be. Because my two player scores are generally higher than my solo score: 4 eyes see more than 2. * Also this iteration is really pretty * You get a satisfying thing you build together on the table and this one has some really really nice perks that make the finished thing look even better.

The best hex landscapes, love the completed campaign game. Prefer those over OG.

This is the type of campaign game I can get behind. The game evolves a little but plays feel similar enough that I don‘t feel the need to be playing continuously. Paradoxically this then makes it more likely for the game to be on the table. I was initially put off by the whole game being just placing one tile after another cooperatively. How is that going to work? But we played a campaign on the OG copy of our friends and I decided I had to have the „pink“ version. I am enjoying this one even more. 2nd iterations are good. I think this one raises the complexity just a little bit. I like how the game manages to be relaxed and puzzly at the same time. It‘s just cozy to play. And this is the mood I am in these days. I like cozy games right now. Solo Plays 2024: 7 Ranking last year: - (new entry)
