Let's Go! To Japan BGG ↗

My BGG Comment

Very relaxed/cozy set collection style game about making plans for a trip to Japan. Need to wait for German language version to acquire however. Solo also plays nicely. So far all my plays were on BGA, I can't quite tell how much upkeep there is. Overall I've enjoyed my games. Rating 7.5 2026. After 8 plays. Now own the game. Simulating a week-long trip to Japan or rather to Tokyo and Kyoto has never been so cozy. I have only played it as a solo so far. It's a nice thematic set collection game with a good solo mode. A bit of a table hog. Set collection is not my most favorite mechanic but this may be my favorite game that is centered around it. It adds a good dose of combos that feel quite satisfying to pull off. Rating 7.5

Simulating a week-long trip to Japan or rather to Tokyo and Kyoto has never been so cozy (depending on your definition of a cozy game, this has some complexity). I have only played it as a solo so far. It's a nice thematic set collection game with a good solo mode. A bit of a table hog. Set collection is not my most favorite mechanic but this may be my favorite game that is centered around it. It adds a good dose of combos that feel quite satisfying to pull off. * Player Count: 1 * My current rating: * Total Lifetime Plays: 8 * Rules Retention: Okay. The ones I forget are quickly relearned. I taught this game once from the rulebook and it took surprisingly long. There are quite a few details. * Keeper: Yes. For now. * Recommended: Anyone who wants to travel or has traveled to Japan and likes collecting sets of symbols. * Competition: Floriferous (Set Collection) --- This one should get to the table more because it's a very nice enjoyable set collection romp through Japan. The only but is that it has some setup details and such a huge table footprint that even playing solo I always feel like I am actually playing in Japan where table space is limited. * Player Count: 1 * My current rating: * Total Lifetime Plays: 7 * Rules Retention: Good. The round tracker is immensely helpful. I keep having to look up which number of additional cards I can take with a research token because despite being pictured on the token: 3 seems like a lot * Keeper: Yes. It is a very good iteration on set collection that has a strong theme. * Recommended: For anyone who has traveled or wants to travel to Japan and enjoys theming their days around one set of similar activities. * Competition: Floriferous (Sets), Shinjuku (Sets + Theme), 7 Wonders (Sets, Simultaneous Play)
