My BGG Comment

Soloable puzzle with shadows (is this an actual follow-up to Photosynthesis—I have not played that). Each turn you draft a card with a biome and an action on it. You plant or grow trees in that biome on your plan. Then you execute the action which can be more plants or growth or lakes or bushes. The leftover card from the draft is put aside and end-game points are calculated from that. At the end of each of the four rounds you check where the sun is, calculate which trees get sunlight and get points for your biggest forest. At the end of the game trees in each biome score from the cards you put aside. Puzzly, quick and solo that is easy to run (the bot just takes a card according to some rules, it doesn‘t score)

Grow a forest, watch the sun, draft the right biomes to get the best trees. Nobody likes the shadows. Why it is cozy? * Everyone has their own forest to grow * Interaction is only in the drafting of the biome cards * Watching trees grow is nice * It is quite pretty * The puzzliness is there but it is never overwhelming * Definitely not boring * Plays quickly and is easy to teach.

While this was not new to me this year, I got in a few plays and it is so quick and so satisfying to grow your forest. I am a little surprised how high this came in on the list still. Maybe I just like trees. I also have the expansion and it makes a for a bit of variety but is not necessary to enjoy the game. Solo Plays 2024: 2 Ranking last year: - (new entry)
