Für Northwood! (ein Solo-Stich-Spiel) · German edition · (2025)

Played a couple of times on BGA and once on the table. All with the beginner setup. I prefer it on the table. It does have all the tropes of trick taking including having to play "null" games and "taking all" the tricks, bidding for which number of tricks you win, trumps and following suit... The special powers from your helpers help you manipulate your hand so you can actually win the precise number of tricks. The opponent just plays cards from the draw deck randomly. I did not think it was possible to have a solo trick taking game but this definitely evokes the mechanic quite well. Have yet to see how much variety there is to be had with different setups. Plays pretty long overall and almost overstays it's welcome every time I play. The tension and overall arc are middling. But this is on the lowest difficulty setting there is with the basic powers available.
