My BGG Comment

I bought this on the cheap and on having heard good things about the elder sibling. Also there are dice involved and for the longest time I kept buying games with dice because my main playing partner likes them. I am less of an enthusiast however. I learned the rules and set up the game. All seemed well. Setup was guided nicely by the board and card backs. The rulebook did a good job of teaching. I played 2 handed for a trial run. And I couldn't be motivated to play beyond the first 3 rounds. It just failed to keep me interested. There is nothing overtly wrong with the game. But it just ended up being a remix of some euro-mechanisms that failed to spark for me. I think this is the game that made me realize that just another remix of my favorite mechanisms is never going to cut it again. A game needs something that sets it apart. Something fresh, that I haven't seen before. (For other people what is considered "fresh" may be entirely different, we have all played different games in our lives) I'll be moving this on. It doesn't even have a solo mode. Very weak viking-sauce.
