My BGG Comment

One of my two favorite Uwe games this is a neat little worker placement game: smaller than Odin and less stressful than Agricola. different decks of buildings give each game a unique feel. Great solo mode that has you blocking worker spots from yourself. Rating 8 2026: One of my very favorite Uwe Rosenberg games. Sadly, I wasn't fast enough to snatch the additional decks that were sold separately from the Big Box at some point. I only have the Salmon deck of those which I was able to acquire when it had just been published. The solo is over 7 rounds with 3 actions each. In this very limited amount of time you can build up your village and try for a variety of scoring strategies that really depend on which buildings are on display for this game. Rating 8

Not sure if I would find it easy to teach. I once tried to get a table together and my friends flatout refused to play this? * Keeper: Definitely. It's a very quick cozy solo with good replay value. * Recommended: Anyone wanting to play a cozy farming / fishing game with moderately tight economy. * Competition: Fields of Arle (Uwe farming), Oranienburger Kanal (Uwe action selection/workers)

I really like the income from fishing and the shares. It always seems like there has to be optimal strategy and then the C buildings come out and suddenly priorities change. That this one only comes in third speaks to how good the first 2 are.

So there‘s a fjord in Norway with those cute red houses and there are a bunch of old people that you need to feed fish to. So you go out fishing no matter the weather… and then you want a bigger ship just cut down those woods, who needs trees anyway? Why the bigger ship? Because the elders get hungry and if you are out in the fjord you can’t hear their complaints. I admit I have only played this one solo, so maybe it shouldn‘t be on the list. But of the Rosenberg worker placement / farming games I have, this one is definitely the most relaxed. Also it is the only one without animal breeding. Why it is cozy? * Because you only play at going out in a fishing boat into the fjord * Every building in every deck is unique and there is always an interesting combo to be had. * Interaction is reduced to worker spot competition and who gets which buildings * The economy is pretty relaxed, you can always do something. * It is nice to see your village grow on your player board.

#18 This was my first encounter with Uwe Rosenberg‘s worker placement solo modes since losing solo-Agricola more than a decade ago. This was also one of my first „big“ solo games that I wasn‘t two handing. Same as with many other entries to the list, I enjoy the variability that comes from using different decks that each shift the focus slightly and the different setups for the card markets do the rest. It is a very classic worker placement game though and I like having that on my table. Blocking yourself from worker spots by switching colors every turn and the fast snappy gameplay, makes this one a treat to play. I have never played this multiplayer because after setup there are so many boards and it all looks so busy that people shy away from it that play far more complex games all the time. And this isn‘t even my favorite big Uwe game
